The Leadership Experience (Dryden Press Series in Management), 5th Edition, Richard L. Daft

Equip students with the critical leadership skills and solid understanding of today's theory they need to become effective business leaders in today's turbulent times. With Daft's THE LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE, 5E, your students explore the latest leadership theory as well as contemporary practices in organizations throughout the world. This edition more closely connects theory to recent world events, such as the Wall Street meltdown, ethical scandals, and political turmoil.

Students examine emerging topics, including enhancing emotional intelligence, leading virtual teams, and open innovation. Packed with memorable examples and unique insights into leadership decisions, this edition reinforces the book's inviting presentation with new full-color visuals. Proven applications, specifically designed for today's leadership theory and applications course, and a solid foundation grounded in established scholarly research make leadership come alive.

"I plan to continue using the Daft text. I have evaluated several other leadership textbooks, and consider Daft to be head and shoulders above the others. I recommend it to colleagues when the opportunity arises. I have had excellent feedback from both lecture and online students concerning 3E and 4E." - William Russell Brown, Navarro College

"This is a superb introductory textbook. I recommend that the students retain it as a reference throughout their program of studies." - Glenn K Cunningham, Duquesne University

"I have found this text to be the most well written of the traditional Leadership textbooks. Students have often told me they like the text for this reason (and typically students do not make such complementary comments about a textbook)." - Joseph Martelli, University of Findlay

"Students have a wealth of information in each chapter coming at them from different directions and in different formats. I particularly like the Leadership Bookshelf and Consider This box segments. As self-learning professionals, several of my students have commented that they have gone online and purchased books discussed in the Leadership Bookshelf boxes to augment their leadership libraries." - Shand H. Stringham, Duquesne University

I really enjoyed this book and my Leadership class! Most of it was a review, but it brought up some interesting points of leadership. I would recommend to anyone, especially in a management position!

I loved the quality of this book. There were some tears or rips. The book was in some what good condition and quality. The pages were ripping away from the binder part but other than that it was okay.
